Bertha Butler

At the age of eighteen, I noticed a small white patch on my leg. I did not really pay any attention, well at the age of thirty, I saw white patches on my buttocks and a patch on my cheek, so I made an appointment to see a dermatologist. She told me it was Vitiligo, and she gave me cream to apply, but I knew in my heart it was not going anywhere so I started to do my own research. By the time I was thirty-five, it had progressed. I get stares like never before, but I am living with it, some days are tougher than others, but I keep moving. My grandkids are the biggest motivation, they say Grandma those are beauty marks you are very pretty and that gives me the courage to keep going on.
